What is Cthunline?

Cthunline is an open-source role-playing game web app that you can self-host.

It's designed to provide useful tools to play RPG with your friends such as:

  • πŸ“ Character sheets (of course)
  • 🎲 Dice rolls (obviously)
  • 🎡 Jukebox (game master can play audio to everyone)
  • ✏️ Sketch (draw things, write things, display images and small tokens)
  • πŸ““ Notes (remember important stuff)

Why not use the other tabletop RPG apps available out there ?

Other applications offer online tabletop role-playing game experience, but they are too graphically advanced for my taste, sometimes resembling video games and detracting from the magic of tabletop role-playing games.

Cthunline's philosophy is to keep things simple and offer a gaming experience that is as close as possible to the tabletop experience. That's why the application offers tools that replicate those found around a role-playing table, without being overly sophisticated.

Cthunline is also open-source, self-hostable, completely free and open to all.

What games can I play?

  • πŸ΄β€β˜ οΈοΈ 7th Sea (2nd edition)
  • πŸ‘½ Alien
  • πŸ’€ Apocalypse World (1st edition)
  • πŸ™ Call of Cthulhu (7th edition)
  • πŸš€ Star Wars (D6 edition)
  • 🐲 Dungeons & Dragons (5th edition)
  • πŸ›‘οΈ Savage Worlds (Adventure edition)
  • πŸ—‘οΈ Warhammer Fantasy (4th edition)

Is it available in my language ?

Cthunline supports multiple languages. For now the app is translated in English and French.

Why is it named like that?

Cthunline is a mix between Cthulhu and Online.
